“They” don’t want August to sing live on national television….
The American Music Awards wouldn’t let August Alsina be great on Sunday night when they turned off his mic during his performance of “Do You Mind” with DJ Khaled.
From the moment August hit the stage it was obvious he was doing a lip sync battle rather than a live performance.
What’s even more insulting is that the mics were on for everyone else on stage.
Watch the performance below.
Not only was August embarrassed – he was hurt by the fact that he got played by the AMAs.
In a post on his IG page he wrote, “Is it because I’m new and that was my first introduction to the AMA world? Is it because I’m black and you don’t know what to expect? Is it because of my past that you may be trying to bind me to? Or is this pure hate and just to rob me of a moment?”
