August Alsina happily announced his forthcoming album, Drugs, via social media the other day.
The 24-year-old R&B singer released two videos offering insight on the title saying:
I just dropped my new song. It’s the title track to my new album, it’s called ‘Drugs.’
You’re probably like, ‘Yo, why your project called ‘Drugs?’
I woke up one day and I realized how addicted to certain ways of living life I was. Addicted to chaos, addicted to drama, addicted to confusion.
Lately, for me, it’s been about breaking the cycle and creating a new normal.
That new normal is love.
