The Atlanta Police officer who shot and killed 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks in a Wendy’s parking lot has been charged with felony murder.

Garrett Rolfe shot Rayshard in the back three times as he fled. After the shooting, Rolfe said, “I got him,” and kicked him.

The other officer on the scene, Devon Brosnan, stood on Rayshard’s shoulder. Neither officer rendered medical aid to Brooks for over two minutes after shooting him.

Rolfe faces a total of 11 charges including aggravated assault after a bullet he fired struck and occupied vehicle in the Wendy’s parking lot.

Brosnan is facing three charges including two counts of violations of oath of office.

He has already flipped and is now a witness for the state.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said, “I don’t remember a circumstance where we had an officer, particularly in a case this important, to step forward and say that they would cooperate with the state.”

Garrett Rolfe has been fired and Devon Brosnan has been placed on administrative duty, however, he should be shown the door based on these charges.

Arrest warrants have been issued for both officers and they have until Thursday to surrender.
