Aretha Franklin Donates Hotel Rooms And Meals To Flint Water Crisis Victims

Aretha Franklin has joined the growing list of celebrities who have stepped up to assist the families affected by the Flint water crisis, but her approach is a little different.

Instead of sending money and/or water bottles, she’s donating hotel rooms to get them out of the homes with contaminated water and meals to fill their bellies.

The legendary singer has vowed to sponsor up to 50 people with rooms at the Holiday Inn in Southfield. The meals will be provided by the local Coney Island restaurant.

New Bethel Baptist, Aretha’s father’s church, will assist in screening the individual who participate

In a recent interview, Aretha Franklin stated, “Detroiters usually come to the aid of Detroiters—and Flint is certainly regarded as Detroit. Hang in there.”
