Scottie Pippen and his ex-wife, Karen Pippen, shared some heartfelt words in tribute to their son Antron Pippen after he was laid to rest in Georgia over the weekend.

Antron Pippen died on April 18, 2021, his cause of death is unknown, but his father Scottie Pippen revealed that Antron suffered from chronic asthma.

Antron’s mom, Karen, married Scottie in 1988 and they divorced in 1990.

The funeral ceremony was held on April 24 and Karen posted a heartfelt note to her son on her IG account after the ceremony.

Your wings were ready but my heart wasn’t. Son, it has been such a pleasure and honor to be your mother.

You’ve left me with so many wonderful memories that I will treasure daily. Your transition has left a huge gap in my heart and the pain is quite unbearable.

I will miss you tremendously and my love for you is for ever. Rest well, my baby boy, until we meet again. @antronpippen@scottiepippen

Scottie shared that he believes his son would have made the NBA, and he is proud of the hardworking and positive man that he became.

Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn’t had it, I truly believe he would’ve made it to the NBA.

He never let that get him down, though — Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I am so proud of the man that he became.

Antron Pippen played college basketball at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) and South Georgia Technical College.

May God continue to comfort the McCollum-Pippen family as they grieve.
