Anthony ‘AJ’ Johnson’s wife Lexis Jones Mason recently took to her Instagram to express her appreciate for all the donations received to cover AJ’s funeral expenses, and she also announced a comedy show fundraiser.

AJ’s GoFundMe is currently at $55,829 more than doubling it’s goal of $20,000.

But, there is a $14,171 differential floating around somewhere because Lexis told TMZ she received $70,000 from celebrities and random donors.

Reportedly, Offset from the Migos donated $5k, comedian Lil Rel Howery donated $4k, and comedian Michael Blackson raised $10k.

The funeral has already been paid for, and Lexis plans to give some of the remaining money to their four children, and she wants to start a stand up comedy school for underprivileged children.

Lexis posted a thank you message to all the donators on her Instagram account on Sunday, along with an announcement of a tribute comedy show fundraiser for AJ scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 28:

On behalf of myself and our family we would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support for AJ. To know that he touched so many lives through his comedy and the characters he played in film and plays for over 30 years has brought us comfort.

Though we still aren’t clear regarding the circumstances surrounding AJ’s death we are still going to celebrate his life with love and laughter.

To pay honor and tribute to AJ, his celebrity friends are hosting a comedy event this Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 at 8pm at the Jspot in Inglewood. Details for purchasing tickets can be found on the flyer.

Additionally, a public viewing will be held earlier on Tuesday, September 28th. Location and time will be announced soon.

We love and appreciate you. God bless.
