50 Cent Donates $100K To Autism Speaks
50 Cent has donated $100,000 to Autism Speaks to make amends for mocking an airport employee he later learned was autistic.
In the video (now removed from his Twitter page) 50 accuses19-year-old Andrew Farrell, who works as a janitor at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky airport, of being high on drugs.
50 Cent immediately issued an apology to Andrew and his family, who graciously accepted and asked that he make a donation of $10,000 to Autism Speaks.
On Thursday, the rapper donated $100,000 to Autism Speaks and placed a call to other entertainers to join him in supporting the cause.
I want to turn this misunderstanding into an understanding. There are people that are ignored, mistreated and neglected with disabilities that need our support.
Today, I have made a donation of $100,000 to this worthy cause through Autism Speaks. I am calling on my fellow musicians, actors, entertainers and all others who may not have fully considered this cause to join together to help in any way they can.
Kudos to 50 Cent for trying to rectify his wrongdoing. Hopefully, he (and others) learned a valuable lesson from this incident.
