Upgrades, Blocks & Kelly Clarkson – Here’s Why ‘The Voice’ Season 14 Is Lit AF!
Get the scoop on “The Voice” season 14 from the show’s executive producer, Audrey Morrissey, and find out why it’s going to be lit AF!
I’m been a fan ever since the show premiered in 2011 and I called Javier Colon as the winner after he sang “Time After Time” in his blind audition.
I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Audrey Morrissey, who is Executive Producer of the award-winning reality-competition.
She gave me the scoop on why the new season is going to be lit AF! My words – not hers.
1 Kelly Clarkson
One of the things I’m most excited about this season is the addition of Kelly Clarkson as a judge.
Just like the rest of us, Audrey loves the great energy the Grammy Award-winning singer brings to the show.
Kelly brings Kelly! She is a force of nature. She is completely unfiltered.
I think her joy and energy is infectious. I also like how she sort of wears her emotions on her face. So, you know exactly what she’s thinking, she’s quick-witted, she jumps up and down, she’s really grounded and hilarious.
2 The Block
Each coach will have buttons with the other coaches’ names on them. They can utilize those buttons to block another coach from getting a contestant that they want.
But, there’s a catch…each coach only has one block that can be used during one audition.
Audrey shared why they decided to add this element to the show:
We realized we’ve never really had a defensive move [on the show]. We decided to explore that and we came up with ‘The Block,’ which we really like.
We ran it by the coaches and asked, ‘What do you think?’ And they loved it!
It definitely added a new dynamic, which is what we wanted to do.
3 New Chairs
There’s nothing like an upgrade!
Season 14 finds the coaches parlaying in some tricked out new judges’ chairs, which features 1,400 individual LED modules with 16 million color options, aluminum shells, metallic automobile finishes and a chrome cup holder.
When asked about her thoughts on “American Idol,” which will airing in direct competition with “The Voice,” Audrey responded by saying:
I really just try to keep my eye on the prize and just try to do my job and try to make ‘The Voice’ as great as it can be.
I really don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the others.
Why should she when they have A.I.‘s season one winner as a coach on “The Voice?!” Checkmate!
