Fred Barley To Receive GoFundMe Donations

Great news! Fred Barley announced on Monday he will receive the $184,000 in GoFundMe donations after his attorney reached an agreement with Casey Blaney‘s attorney.

Fred took to his Facebook page to share the great news.

So I have some great news for everyone that has been following the story. My attorney Christopher Chapman has got in contact with Wright Gammon, Mrs. Blaney’s attorney, and has come to terms so both parties are happy. I will be allowed to put it into a trust that covers both living expenses and help with my tuition. Mrs. Blaney would like to turn over everything to her lawyer, and does not want anything to do with the trust account any longer. Together , my attorney and her attorney are working cooperatively to ensure that all assets donated go strictly to me and in a trust that I agree with. Thank you everyone for your prayers and standing behind me through everything. God makes a way.

Blaney, the woman who says she felt compelled to help Fred, had a change of heart after he insisted on choosing his own attorney and trustee over the money.

She reported her concerns to GoFundMe, who in turn, froze the account to “investigate” Fred’s story.

Meanwhile, his supporters launched a petition on Change.org urging GoFundMe to release his donations. The petition garnered over 16,000 signatures in less than a week.

I’m very happy this situation has been resolved and I hope there aren’t any more hiccups so that he can focus on his studies.
