Shonda Rhimes Blasts Bill O’Reilly
Just when you think Bill O’Reilly couldn’t turn your stomach any more than he already has, he outdoes himself.
Shonda Rhimes took to Twitter to blast Bill O’Reilly for his asinine remarks in response to a portion of First Lady Michelle Obama‘s powerful Democratic National Convention speech regarding slaves building the White House.
During her speech FLOTUS said, “That is the story of this country, the story that has brought me to this stage tonight, the story of generations of people who felt the lash of bondage, the shame of servitude, the sting of segregation, but who kept on striving and hoping and doing what needed to be done so that today I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves.”
Bill responded by saying, “Slaves that worked there were well-fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government, which stopped hiring slave labor in 1802,”
O’Reilly continued. “However, the feds did not forbid subcontractors from using slave labor. So, Michelle Obama is essentially correct in citing slaves as builders of the White House, but there were others working as well.”
Like many of us, Shonda Rhimes was absolutely disgusted by Bill O’Reilly’s remarks and she let him have it.
