Prosecutor Recommends DMX Serve 5 Years In Jail For Tax Evasion To ‘Send A Message’ To Other Celebs

Manhattan prosecutors are planning to recommend DMX serve 5 to 9 years in jail for failing to pay $1.7 million in taxes to “send a message” to other celebs.

Manhattan prosecutors are planning to recommend DMX serve 5 to 9 years in jail for failing to pay $1.7 million in taxes to “send a message” to other celebs.

According to court papers, the prosecutors are asking the judge to “use this sentencing to send the message to this defendant and others that star power does not entitle someone to a free pass, and individuals cannot shirk the duty to pay their fair share of taxes.”

 

DMX’s attorney Murray Richman is seeking probation and drug treatment so that he can continue to perform to make money to pay the debt.

They wish to make an example of him just before tax season just as they always do.

Take a man who comes from the ghetto and expect him to understand the implications of doing taxes when he’s an entertainer.
