Instead of leaving it in 2016 and forgetting it like JLo, Mariah Carey has now released an audio statement regarding her disastrous New Year’s Eve performance.

In the audio released via social media on Sunday, Mimi blamed everyone and everything except her voice.

The diva said Dick Clark’s janky production team “foiled me.” She added that it turned into an opportunity for them to humiliate her.

It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues who chose to capitalize on circumstances beyond our control.

It’s not practical for a singer to sing live and be able to her themselves properly in the middle of Times Square in all of the noise, the freezing cold, smoke from the smoke machine, thousands of people celebrating, especially when their ear monitors were not working at all!

Listen guys…they foiled me!

Thus, it turned into an opportunity to humiliate me!
