Shamont Lyle Sapp, a prisoner serving time in Oklahoma for ten bank robberies is suing Tyler Perry and Jamie Foxx for stealing his idea for their film, “Shank Robbers.”
“Shank Robbers” is the comedy film project set to feature “Sheneneh”, played by Martin Lawrence and “Wanda”, played by Jamie Foxx as bank robbers. “Madea” had signed on as well to get a piece of the action.
Sapp claims he shared his idea with Tyler and Jamie back in 2009 and the two cut him out of the deal. Shamont says his idea for “Shank Robbers” was a drama, not a comedy.
“A male white mental patient takes Madea hostage … He deals with phone calls from the negotiators, as Madea actually pleads for her life in a very sad tear-jerking way … Her pleas are to be very sad. No jokes at all.”
He’s suing both Tyler Perry and Jamie Foxx for a million a piece.
I’m a bit baffled at how a ten-time bank robber could even file a lawsuit. Not to mention, if for some odd reason or strange turn of events he were to win the case would he put the $2 million on his books?
I’m sure Tyler and Jamie have nothing to worry about. The fact that Shamont Lyle Sapp is residing in a cell right now is the first indication that he doesn’t do well in court.
