Hot 97’s tagline is “Where Hip Hop Lives,” but many may beg to differ…

On Sunday, the twitter account of the popular New York radio station tweeted Pimp C was performing at their annual Summer Jam concert, which is impossible considering the Hip Hop legend passed away 11 years ago.

It was actually Bun B who was ripping up the stage.

He took to Instagram and wrote, “Close @hot97 but no cigar…thanks to @meganryte @djenuff and @oldmanebro for having us!”

After getting dragged through the streets of social media, Hot 97 issued the following apology for the egregious error:
