‘Get Out’ Tops Box Office
Get Out scared off the competition to top the box office with an impressive $30.5 million opening weekend.
Jordan Peele nailed it with his directorial debut with many hailing the cautionary tale as an instant classic!
Via Entertainment Weekly:
The racially charged horror flick amasses its impressive debut just over a month after earning some of the best critical reviews of the year at Sundance, where it had its world premiere in January.
Starring Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, and Catherine Keener, the film’s inherently buzzy concept — an interracial couple retreats to the young woman’s family home amid a mysterious community with a sinister secret — resonated with moviegoers at a time when social and political discourse largely revolves around issues of race.
Meanwhile in Chicago…
Chance The Rapper loved the film so much that he bought out the entire Chatham Theater on 87th so that fans could see the film absolutely free!
I bought all the tickets to #GetOut at Chatham Theatre on 87th Just pull up with ID and enjoy the movie.
