Donald Trump Grants Kim Kardashian’s Request To Commute Alice Johnson’s Sentence
Days after Kim Kardashian’s meeting with Donald Trump, he has granted her request to pardon Alice Johnson.
Kim Kardashian‘s mission to free Alice Johnson is complete!
A week after Kim visited the White House to discuss prison reform with Donald Trump, he has granted her request to commute the sentence of the Tennessee grandmother, who is serving a life sentence in prison on a first-time non-violent drug conviction.
Mic broke the news:
President Donald Trump has granted clemency on Wednesday to Alice Marie Johnson, a first-time nonviolent drug offender who was given a life sentence without parole, Mic has learned.
The 63-year-old great-grandmother — whose case has been spotlighted recently by Kim Kardashian West and Mic’s Opinion desk — will be released from federal prison in Aliceville, Alabama, where she has been serving her sentence since 1996.
News of Johnson’s release comes a week after Kardashian West advocated for her in an Oval Office meeting with Trump.
Kim took to Twitter to celebrate the good news:
